Chandra Sekhar has an extensive work experience of over 25 years and has played a significant role in the Health Care and Health Insurance Industry in India.
He is the President-Corporate & International, at Apollo Hospitals Group, India and is responsible for spearheading the Group’s new business initiatives, international medical tourism and reviewing all the business entities within the Group. Prior to his position at Apollo Hospitals Group, he was the Principal Consultant – Healthcare at ICICI Ventures and earlier the Executive Director – Strategy & Marketing for Global Hospitals Group. He has a deep experience in the Health Care Industry for over 16 years and has led the formation of a Standalone Health Insurance company in India, besides heading business development, marketing and brand promotion programs for hospital chains, supporting various projects including the development of a Third Party Administration (TPA) Company. He has a sound understanding of various other spaces in healthcare such as Hospital projects, Primary care clinics, Pharmacy chain, Wellness, Disease Management, health care information technology and the healthcare BPO space. He is also the founding Member of the CII Working Group on Insurance.
He has travelled widely for business development and strategic partnerships across India, SAARC, MENA regions, Europe, USA & UK. He also has a strong academic background with an MBA from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India and Advanced Management Programs from the Indian School of Business and the Kellogg’s School of Management, Chicago, USA.
